PhotoCheese exists to collect photos — so we take privacy seriously. We ask for as little as possible, never sell your data, and give you full control over every gallery and every memory in it.

What we collect

• Account details — your name and email when you create an account, so we can sign you in and reach you about your events.
• Gallery content — the photos and videos uploaded to your galleries, plus any captions or optional uploader names guests choose to add.
• Usage data — basic, anonymized information about how the product is used, to help us fix bugs and improve.

Guests don’t need an account

Guests contribute by scanning a QR code — no app, no sign-up. The only thing we store for a guest is the photo they choose to share and, if they enter one, a first name to label it. We never ask a guest for an email, contacts, or location.

How we use your information

To run the service, keep your galleries available, respond to support requests, and protect against abuse. We use your email to send essential account messages and — only if you opt in — occasional product news.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share information only with the trusted service providers that help us operate — cloud storage, email delivery, and payments — each bound to handle it securely. We may disclose data if legally required to do so.

Storage & retention

Your photos stay in full original quality for as long as your gallery is active. Delete a gallery and its contents are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. You can export everything, anytime.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can access, export, correct, or delete your data. If you’re in the EU, UK, or California, your GDPR and CCPA rights apply in full — just email us and we’ll take care of it, no fees.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and a small set of privacy-respecting analytics cookies to understand what’s working. No third-party advertising trackers, ever.

Children

PhotoCheese isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. Photos of children shared by event hosts remain the responsibility of the gallery owner.
